How I got here

My work sits where public health data meets a decision someone actually has to make. The habit that carries through all of it: get the data right, then make sure it is understood.

I trained first in pharmacy at the University of Mumbai. A summer at the University of Tartu in Estonia, testing antimicrobial drug-loaded nanofibrous dressings for chronic wound infections, was my first real research, and infections have stayed at the center of my work ever since. I followed that interest into public health with an MPH in epidemiology at the University of South Florida, where I also taught online courses of more than a thousand students as a graduate teaching assistant.

At Tampa General Hospital I ran a retrospective EHR study of more than 2,000 patients on Hepatitis C risk factors. When COVID-19 arrived I joined the Florida Department of Health as a field epidemiologist, managing 150+ case investigations a week and building the dashboards leadership used to track the response. I then moved to Emory University's Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit, one of ten NIH-funded sites, to manage clinical trial data for COVID-19 vaccine studies.

Since 2022 I have supported CDC's Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion as a contractor, working on healthcare-associated infections and antimicrobial resistance across hospitals and nursing homes. Whether the person on the other end is a nursing home clinician, a state health department, or CDC leadership, the goal is the same: evidence they can trust and use.
